Description Hamabo hibiscus is a small, broadleaf evergreen tree or large shrub native to China, Korea, and Japan and in the Malvaceae (mallow) family. It grows 6 to 15 feet in height and 10 to 15 feet wide and has flowers that last from mid-spring through the first frost. Plant in full sun to partial shade and in an area with good drainage.
